Screening machines
The 3D COMBI screening machine is used for precise classification and screening of fine particles. On the upper deck, it is a recycling screen, and on the lower deck, it is a tension-shaft screening machine.
As a 2-in-1 solution, it offers you perfect screening quality for maximum yield—all while taking up very little space.
The SPALECK 3D COMBI screening machine is designed for the precise classification of materials that are difficult to screen, as well as moist and sticky materials. Typical applications include metal recycling, mixed construction waste, and organic waste, for example. On the upper deck, it features a SPALECK recycling screen deck with optional tension shaft cassettes or, for example, AutoCLEAN technology. On the lower deck, it is a tension-shaft screening machine.
3D COMBI screens ensure highly precise classification of recycled material into up to five fractions. The fine fraction is reliably screened out, and the other fractions are also of first-class quality. This is the basis for successful sorting using, for example, eddy current sorters, NIR, X-ray, sensor, or LIBS sorting technology.

We know from experience that screening quality and optimal material feed are key factors in the cost-effectiveness of the entire recycling process.
With the 3D COMBI, you can produce up to five fractions that are clearly separated from one another. Each individual screen cut provides the defined and required classification characteristics for the downstream sorting process.
They thus embody our philosophy “BEST SCREENING. BEST SORTING.” which will help you achieve the best recycling results.

3D COMBI screening machines perform the multi-stage classification of recycled materials in recycling plants in a single step. Its particular strength lies in its first-class screening performance and screening quality, which form the essential foundation for the sorting, recovery, and further processing of recycled materials. You can find typical use cases here:

When it comes to recycling mixed construction waste, the 3D COMBI does a great job. The fine fraction is effectively separated—for example, using screen openings of 0–20 mm—and the remaining material is classified for subsequent sorting. Typical screen sizes here are 20–60 mm, 60–120 mm, and larger than 120 mm. Downstream sorting technologies, such as eddy current or sensor sorters, are specifically fed the correct material size.

Commercial waste consists of a wide variety of materials. The fine fraction must be kept separate from the sorting equipment, and the remainder must be sorted into clearly defined particle sizes. Typical classifications include, for example, size ranges such as 0–20 mm, 20–60 mm, 60–120 mm, and > 120 mm. This creates ideal conditions for downstream sorting processes.

3D COMBI screening machines have become indispensable in the metal recycling industry. Internationally, they help optimize the sorting process. The reason: They produce up to five fractions that allow for the optimal recycling of non-ferrous metals. With our philosophy, BEST SCREENING. BEST INFEED. FOR THE BEST SORTING QUALITY. 3D COMBI screens play a key role in ensuring cost-effectiveness in metal recycling.

Recycling electronic waste requires a great deal of experience and the right technology. The 3D COMBI screening machine offers both. It helps to selectively separate contaminants so that the focus can be on the profitable, trouble-free processing of electronic waste. To this end, it supplies clean grain conveyors with a focus on downstream sorting technology.

For organic material streams such as food waste or compost, the screening machine is used for coarse sorting and separating the material. Larger components are reliably separated and prepared for downstream processes. Consistent fractionation facilitates further processing and ensures better process control throughout the plant. In practice, Flio-Flow screening is often used in conjunction with SPALECK tensioned-shaft cassettes, for example, when handling very moist and sticky material. Alternatively, SPALECK AutoCLEAN screening technology is used here.
South Africa, the Middle East, North and South America, Asia, Europe, or Australia—we’d be happy to show you reference installations featuring SPALECK screening technology for your material.

SPALECK Screening Technology—Available Anytime, Anywhere
There is hardly any recycled material for which a screening machine cannot be used. The materials include both heavy and light substances, with particle sizes ranging from large to very small, as well as damp and wet materials, and dusty or dry screened materials.
SPALECK screening machines perform exceptionally well in the recycling sector, the chemical and food industries, and the aggregates sector.
Here are seven things we support and promote, among others:
and hundreds more materials.
A screening machine is used to separate and classify the material to be screened according to grain size. The aim is to separate the feed material of different sizes into size classifications using screening technology. The screening machine is used to separate the material being screened by size. The screening process is also called grading. During the screening process, the material is cleanly and reliably separated into the desired screen fractions.
In addition, screening machines are used for dewatering or for quality control screening. Typical applications therefore include classifying, inspecting, and protecting, as well as separating, dewatering, and breaking up clumps.
In our videos, you’ll find numerous instructional and application videos featuring screening machines.
In recycling, screen quality is very important because it lays the foundation for high-quality sorting. Screening machines are therefore indispensable for the recycling process of most recyclable materials. The rule is: The more precise the screening, the better the overall recycling result will be later on. This is because optimised screening quality enables downstream recycling machines such as magnetic sorters, eddy current devices, X-ray sorters, NIR sorters or wind sifters to process the individual fractions in the best possible way. Screens therefore play an important role in the circular economy in the recovery of recyclable materials and raw materials.
Screening according to particle size is essential in processing and recycling.
This is because only very clean fractions can be processed by the downstream sorting machines (e.g., B. Eddy current separators, air separators, sensor sorters, X-ray sorters (XRT / XRF), NIR sorters, and LIBS technology achieve economically optimal results.
Depending on the type of screening machine, these are used for screening and classification, and are categorized according to the following particle sizes and applications:
• Coarse screening & pre-separation
• Classification screening
• Fine screening
• Drainage
• Control screening
• GMP-compliant screening
Depending on the type of screening machine, they come in a wide variety of sizes:
While GMP-compliant screening machines used in food production are generally smaller, we manufacture our screening machines for recycling in standard sizes of up to 2 x 10 m or 3 x 10 m.
There are also single-deck, double-deck and triple-deck screening machines.
Screening machines are available both as mobile screening plants and as stationary screens.
The following types of screening machines are available, which you can find in the overview:
