Our trainees set an example for more biodiversity and nature conservation with a planting campaign on Saturday, December 8, 2018. They replanted an area of around 800 m² at our company site in Robert-Bosch-Straße. To this end, the previously species-poor stone and plant beds were enhanced with native shrubs and mixed perennials.
Ruth Klein-Hitpaß, apprentice at SPALECK: “With the new planting, we want to show that environmental protection is possible everywhere, even in industrial areas. Many insect and bird species will find a lively, newly created habitat here in the spring.”
The campaign was supported by NABU Kreisverband Borken e.V., gardening professional Theo Groenenstijn from Anholt and the city of Bocholt. Rainer Ebbing, a member of the city’s green department, supervised the planting: “It’s great how the trainees at Spaleck show that environmental protection can be actively practiced within the company. As a city, we are happy to support campaigns like this. We are on hand with help and advice.” Contact at the city of Bocholt: Department of Civil Engineering, Transport, Urban Greenery and Environment, telephone 02871 953-512.
