Your Apprenticeship at SPALECK
Don’t want to see the same part every day? In SPALECK’s Contract manufacturing division, you’ll be the all-around expert in metal fabrication. You’ll bring technical drawings to life to meet a wide variety of customer needs and build components that will later be used in a wide range of industries.
As a structural metalworker at SPALECK, you’re the expert in metal structures. Together with your team, you transform raw materials into finished components: First, you shape the steel exactly as needed, then you assemble the individual parts with precision to create a sturdy final product.
Here’s what you can expect during your training
During your apprenticeship as a construction mechanic at SPALECK in Bocholt, you’ll first learn to read drawings and master the basics of thread cutting, drilling, deburring, and bending. To enable you to manufacture all components customer-specific, you’ll learn various welding processes and techniques throughout the program. The components you manufacture will then be welded together into large welded assemblies during the Assembly of components.
If you enjoy working with metal and want to see, at the end of the day, how your skill has transformed steel plates weighing several metric tons into a finished structure, you’ll be a perfect fit for our team.

We provide training to meet our own needs. If trainees perform well both on the job and at vocational school, our clear goal is to hire them after they complete their training.
Since SPALECK has a broad range of operations—both as a supplier and in its own mechanical engineering division—there are various career paths available after completing an apprenticeship—whether as a specialist in the welding shop, in the final assembly of large-scale systems, or later through further training in workshop management or quality assurance.
As a fabrication mechanic, you’ll mainly work in our production facilities. Since metal is cut, bent, welded, and ground here, a certain amount of noise and dust is unavoidable.
To protect your health, we provide you with a full set of personal protective equipment. In addition to standard work clothes, this includes professional hearing protection, safety glasses, and fume extraction systems at the welding stations.
