Efficient flue gas management is the key to reducing emissions and ensuring Process reliability in modern industry. As part of the SPALECK Group, HMT Industries develops high-quality industrial dampers and flue gas fittings at its Rhede facility that are precisely tailored to your specific structural conditions. Benefit from HMT’s more than 50 years of experience in sophisticated steel construction and its close ties to SPALECK, which has more than 150 years of experience in mechanical engineering and metalworking.
We do not supply standard catalog items. Every fixture is designed and manufactured exactly according to your specifications.
Our solutions are designed for temperatures up to 1,200 °C, high dust loads, and corrosive media.
HMT is certified to DIN EN ISO 9001:2008 and meets the highest welding standards in accordance with DIN EN ISO 3834-2.
Industrial valves and fittings are at the heart of modern industrial plants when it comes to the precise management of media flows. Their primary function is to precisely control, regulate, or safely isolate gas, air, and flue gas flows. This makes them an indispensable component for stable and safe process operations in nearly all sectors of heavy industry and the energy sector. Industrial dampers must withstand extreme conditions, particularly in energy-intensive applications or thermal processes. Whether in flue gas ducts, complex exhaust air systems, or process engineering plants—controlled flow management is only possible with robust and precisely operating damper systems.
In the world of flue gas valves, geometry and leak tightness determine the efficiency of the entire system. We offer you the full range of shut-off and control valves.

Our shut-off and louvered dampers are specifically designed for demanding control and shut-off applications. HMT’s robust construction guarantees long-term reliability even under the most adverse operating conditions. By carefully selecting materials and blade shapes, we optimize each louver valve precisely for the flow conditions in your system.

In the maritime industry, our SBD and TBD dampers set the standard. Thanks to their expanded DNV GL certification and integrated self-cleaning features, they are the preferred choice for scrubber systems worldwide. With over 500 installations on ships of all sizes, we offer proven safety for maritime applications.

Our gate valves are used wherever a fully open pipe cross-section without pressure loss is required when the valve is open. We manufacture these systems in various geometries and for extremely large sizes. Depending on the requirements, they are precisely controlled via spindle, cable, or rack-and-pinion drives.

Our gas diverters are the ideal solution for efficiently diverting hot media in gas turbine and combined-cycle power plants. These specialized valves are designed for high-temperature applications and, thanks to intelligent engineering, account for the thermal expansion of the materials to ensure maximum functionality even under extreme temperature fluctuations.

Our chimney dampers reliably protect your system from heat loss when it is not in operation and prevent moisture from entering. Rainwater is safely drained away thanks to the design of the slats, which are angled downward, and integrated drainage channels. Optionally, these dampers can be configured as self-opening pressure-relief systems.

HMT’s swing valves offer exceptional sealing performance with minimal maintenance requirements. Because the seal length is shorter than in other designs and the closing force is optimally applied around the circumference, this system delivers excellent performance for demanding shut-off processes.
At HMT, technical excellence is no accident. At our spacious production facility in Rhede, we manufacture Welded assemblies and components that can withstand even extreme temperature fluctuations and mechanical stresses.
We understand your specific installation situation (e.g., sloped pipes).
Selection of materials and drive systems (electric, pneumatic, hydraulic).
Includes a test run of all drive units.
Ongoing support to ensure the longevity of your solution.
Our engineering expertise is applied worldwide across a wide variety of industrial sectors.
In thermal waste treatment, valves are exposed to extreme chemical and thermal stresses. Our valve systems ensure reliable flue gas management, support the recovery of waste heat for energy, and, thanks to their Durability, minimize unplanned plant downtime.
Harsh operating conditions, high dust loads, and extreme heat are the norm in cement plants and steel mills. HMT’s robust structures are specifically designed for these abrasive conditions and ensure consistent production while reducing emissions.
In modern combined-cycle power plants, speed and precision are key. Our specially developed gas diverters and shut-off systems optimize the efficiency of your turbines by directing media flows with minimal losses, thereby making a significant contribution to energy efficiency.
The removal of sulfur oxides and nitrogen oxides from flue gases places the highest demands on the corrosion resistance of the components used. HMT supplies the appropriate high-quality valves for this purpose, which enable the continuous operation of the desulfurization and denitrification stages.
Highly efficient scrubber systems are essential on ships to protect the oceans and comply with international emissions standards (MARPOL). Our DNV GL-certified dampers are in use worldwide to safely and reliably reduce sulfur emissions at sea.
From fine chemicals to large-scale industrial processes: Our industrial valves provide the necessary control for sensitive operations. We design custom configurations that are precisely tailored to the specific pressures and chemical requirements of your processes.
Our flue gas valves play a crucial role in industrial emission control. In complex environmental engineering systems, they enable precise control of gas flows, which is the foundation for effective air pollution control and compliance with legal limits.

We offer maximum flexibility in the choice of drive technology. Depending on the requirements and existing infrastructure, we equip our flaps with electric, pneumatic or electro-hydraulic drives from well-known manufacturers. The entire unit, including limit switch and emergency actuation, is test-driven at our factory in Rhede before delivery.
Absolutely. As we do not sell standard products, but design each valve individually, we can adapt our valves precisely to existing flange dimensions and spatial bottlenecks. One example of this is our elliptical designs for inclined pipelines, which have been specially developed for difficult installation situations.
Yes, our SBD and TBD flap systems for shipping have the required DNV GL certificates. They also meet the strict requirements for self-cleaning, which makes them ideal for use in scrubber systems (flue gas desulphurization on ships).
For applications that require maximum safety (e.g. “man-safe” requirements in accordance with UVV), we use double seals with sealing air admission. This overpressure in the sealing air chamber physically prevents flue gases from passing through, which guarantees absolute separation of the media flows.
Our fittings are specially designed for thermally demanding processes. Depending on the choice of material and design (e.g. for gas diverters), we manufacture solutions for operating temperatures of up to 1,200 °C. We always take the specific thermal expansion of the materials into account during engineering.
