Recycling technology, Materials, and Processes
As the world’s leading manufacturer of screening machines, we offer the best screening results for your processing of steel mill slag, waste-to-energy (WTE) ash—such as grate ash and fluidized bed ash—and much more…
SPALECK screening machines and conveyor systems play an indispensable role in the processing of Slag from steel mills and waste-to-energy plants. We not only enable you to efficiently recover metals—both ferrous and non-ferrous—but also to precisely separate the wide variety of other components and raw materials, ensuring smooth recycling and reintroduction into the Economic cycle. With more than 150 years of experience in mechanical engineering, SPALECK is your reliable partner for efficient slag processing—benefit from our expertise and rely on quality!
The composition of grate ash and fluidized-bed ash from waste incineration plants—often referred to as waste incineration slag—can vary significantly depending on the type of waste incinerated. One of the goals of processing is to recover valuable non-ferrous metals.
Depending on the raw materials used during steel production, steel mill slag and blast furnace slag exhibit different properties with regard to raw material recovery in slag processing. That is why we develop screening machines that are optimally tailored to your application!
SPALECK Conveying & Separation Technology plays a key role in the optimal recycling of non-ferrous metals by ensuring a uniform feed to downstream sorting equipment and the precise separation of MV Slag and metals.
The SPALECK ActiveFEED provides optimized and consistent Slag feeding for Recycling lines, with maximum ease of use and automatic regulation to ensure consistent performance, with a capacity of 3–25 m³.
SPALECK finger screens and bar screens are designed for efficient Coarse screening and pre-separation of Slag, with maximum output, minimal wear, and clog-free operation.
With the SPALECK Recycling Waste Screen, you’ll achieve the best results in the classification of Slag and municipal solid waste ash thanks to optimal screening quality, performance, and reliability.
The SPALECK Flip-Flow screening machine is designed for cost-effective fine screening of materials that are difficult to screen, sticky, and moist—such as Slag and municipal solid waste (MSW) ash—with screening sizes ranging from 1 mm to approximately 50 mm.
The high-performance SPALECK 3D Combi, featuring a 3D upper deck and a Flip-Flow screen lower deck, combines unmatched efficiency and cost-effectiveness with optimal screening results—delivering up to 5 screen fractions in your slag processing.
The ActiveCLEAN vibratory feeder actively prevents damp material flows, such as grate ash, from sticking and caking, thereby completely eliminating downtime and the need for cleaning.
Every year, we conduct hundreds of material tests with our customers at the SPALECK TestCenter. The goal: to achieve optimal classification and material feed for the best possible performance of the downstream sorting equipment.
We’d be happy to advise you on your free trial day at the SPALECK TestCenter. Our goal: to find the best solution for your recycled material.
Due to the high moisture content of Slag and municipal solid waste (MSW) ash, sticking and clumping occur during the processing. This requires significant cleaning efforts and repeatedly leads to production stoppages. With SPALECK ActiveCLEAN, you can avoid these downtime events and maximize your plant availability.
